K-SECRET Seoul 1988 Eye Cream: Retinal Liposome 4% + Fermented Bean (30ml) — Korean Encapsulated Retinal Eye Cream with Bakuchiol, Peptides & 5 Fermented Extracts | Targets Fine Lines, Dark Circles & Loss of Elasticity | Mature & Aging Skin | Made in Korea
A High-Concentration Retinoid, Engineered for the Eye Area
Retinoids are widely regarded as the most well-studied, effective ingredient class for visible signs of aging, but their reputation for irritation has historically kept many people away from using them around the eyes, exactly where skin is thinnest and most reactive. K-SECRET's Seoul 1988 Eye Cream, available at thealoy.com, was built to close that gap, using a 4% Retinal Liposome system rather than free, unencapsulated retinal. The retinal is held within liposomes—microscopic phospholipid spheres that are naturally compatible with skin's own cell membranes—which gradually release the active as they break down, converting roughly down to a 0.04% pure retinal concentration delivered to the skin. This encapsulation approach is specifically chosen to improve stability and absorption while meaningfully reducing the irritation that direct, unencapsulated retinal can cause, particularly in a delicate area like the eye contour.
Retinal itself is one step closer to retinoic acid—the form the body actually uses—than retinol is, meaning it generally converts and acts faster while remaining part of the same well-researched retinoid family credited with improving texture, reducing the appearance of fine lines, fading the look of dark spots, and supporting visible skin renewal over time. Around this core active, the formula builds out a genuinely layered anti-aging complex: Lactobacillus/Soybean Ferment Extract, the "fermented bean" referenced in the product name, is included specifically to support elasticity and a smoother-looking eye area, while four additional fermented extracts (Lactobacillus/Panax Ginseng Root Ferment Filtrate, Lactobacillus/Rice Ferment, Saccharomyces/Coix Lacryma-Jobi Ma-yuen Seed Ferment Filtrate, and Saccharomyces/Potato Extract Ferment Filtrate) contribute further antioxidant and skin-conditioning support across the formula.
Bakuchiol, a plant-derived retinol alternative known for offering gentle wrinkle-care benefits without the irritation typically associated with retinoids, is layered in alongside Vitamin C, in the stable 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid form, Vitamin E as Tocopherol, and three peptides that work together to support collagen production and improve the look of skin firmness. Five herbal root extracts (Arctium Lappa, Cnidium Officinale, Dioscorea Japonica, Paeonia Suffruticosa, and Rehmannia Chinensis) round out the antioxidant profile and reflect a formulation approach rooted in traditional Korean botanical skincare, while Niacinamide helps even out tone and support the skin barrier, and Adenosine adds further anti-wrinkle support on top of the retinal's primary action.
Skin Type Suitability
Mature and aging skin: This cream is a primary fit for skin profiles showing established crow's feet, thin crepey texture, and an overall structural loss of firmness under the eyes.
Sensitive skin seeking retinoids: The encapsulated liposome delivery system minimizes skin flaring, making it highly suitable for individuals who typically cannot tolerate standard retinoid products.
Dull skin with pigmented dark circles: It perfectly serves complexions dealing with a shadow-like appearance, uneven tone, or localized environmental sun damage around the upper cheek and eye sockets.
Normal, combination, and oily skin: The non-greasy, silky cream consistency sinks in beautifully without clogging pores or leaving an excessively heavy, oily barrier overnight.
Who Is This Product For?
Retinoid beginners fearing irritation: This formula is perfect for anyone wanting to experience the potent anti-aging benefits of advanced retinaldehyde without suffering through severe redness or peeling.
Multi-zone wrinkle smoothers: It is ideal for individuals looking for a versatile spot treatment that can also be applied to other key expression zones, such as forehead wrinkles, glabella "elevens," and mouth smile lines.
K-beauty enthusiasts exploring clinical lines: It appeals to skincare fans who appreciate the marriage of traditional Korean fermentation secrets with high-tech, clinically proven anti-aging actives.
Bangladeshi shoppers searching for authenticity: It is an excellent match for anyone in Bangladesh searching for terms like the best retinal eye cream for dark circles Bangladesh, original Korean retinal cream Bangladesh, or authentic K-SECRET products in Bangladesh, all of which lead back to verified stock at thealoy.com.
Who Should Avoid This Product?
Pregnant or breastfeeding women: Due to the inclusion of retinal, a vitamin A derivative, it is universally recommended to completely avoid this product during pregnancy and lactation.
Those expecting instant overnight miracles: Retinoids require consistent cellular conversion over time; if you are looking for an immediate quick fix rather than a gradual 4-to-6-week structural transition, manage your timeline expectations.
Skin with an actively compromised moisture barrier: If you are dealing with raw, peeling, actively burning, or eczema-prone eyelid tissue, hold off on this active treatment until your skin fully repairs.
Extreme daytime outdoor workers: If you cannot commit to wearing high-factor daily sunscreen every single morning, avoid using nighttime retinal, as it renders your skin more vulnerable to UV radiation damage.
Skin Concerns It Helps With
Fine lines and stubborn crow's feet: Retinaldehyde speeds up cellular turnover to rebuild and smooth out the look of fine lines and creases.
Under-eye shadows and dullness: A premium pairing of Vitamin C, Niacinamide, and traditional herbal roots targets melanin buildup to visibly brighten dark circles.
Loss of elasticity and crepiness: High-performance peptides, Bakuchiol, and fermented bean extracts reinforce the thin skin structure to support a firmer, tighter look.
Free radical and environmental stress: Five traditional Korean botanical root extracts supply vital antioxidant protection to defend the delicate eye contour from premature daily aging.
What Results Can You Realistically Expect?
Immediately: The non-greasy, silky cream absorbs smoothly without any sticky weight, leaving the skin texture feeling instantly conditioned and primed for nighttime rest.
Within the first 2 weeks: As your skin builds a tolerance, you will notice a smoother under-eye texture and a firmer feel, with the liposomal delivery carefully regulating active release to minimize initial flaking.
With 4 to 8 weeks of consistent use: The deeper anti-aging rewards emerge, revealing a visible softening of expression lines, a brighter and more awake under-eye tone, and a significantly more resilient skin bounce.
How to Use
Incorporate into your PM routine: Use this eye cream exclusively during your nighttime routine, as retinal is inherently sensitive to UV rays and loses its potency when exposed to morning sunlight.
Apply using the dotting method: After your cleansing, toning, and serum steps, dispense a tiny grain-sized amount onto your ring finger. Gently dot and pat it along your orbital bone, avoiding the immediate lash line and eyelids.
Ramp up frequency gradually: Introduce it slowly to build skin tolerance. Use it just twice a week for the first two weeks, increase to every other night for the next two weeks, and transition to nightly use if your skin remains fully comfortable.
Always apply morning SPF: Because retinal accelerates cell renewal, your skin will be more sensitive to daylight. Always protect your results by smoothing on a broad-spectrum sunscreen the following morning.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a 4% Retinal Liposome concentration too strong for a beginner?
While 4% sounds incredibly high, it represents the raw liposomal raw material blend. When it comes into contact with the skin, it converts down to an effective and exceptionally gentle 0.04% pure retinal active, making it safe for beginners provided you follow a gradual application ramp-up.
Can I apply this eye cream directly to my eyelids or lower lash line?
No, the brand explicitly advises against applying the cream too close to the lower lash line or directly onto the eyelids. The product is highly migratory; simply patting it along the hard orbital bone is enough for it to travel safely to the targeted under-eye skin.
Can I use this product as a full-face anti-aging serum replacement?
While it works beautifully as a concentrated spot treatment for forehead creases or deep smile lines around the mouth, it is heavily optimized and thick-textured specifically for the orbital zone, meaning it should not replace a standard, fluid full-face serum.
How long will a single 30ml tube last with regular nighttime use?
Because you only need a microscopic, grain-sized drop for both eyes per evening, a generous 30ml tube will comfortably last one individual between two to three full months of consistent application.
