The Ordinary Retinol 1% In Squalane 30 ml

The Ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalane 30ml | Advanced 1% Pure Retinol Core Anti-Aging Treatment & Plant-Derived Squalane Moisture Barrier Renewal Serum

Product Overview & Benefits

Managing advanced fine lines, UV-induced solar aging, and rough skin micro-textures under environmental stress requires high-efficacy active care. As the skin matures, its natural cellular turnover rate slows down, leading to collagen degradation, sagging contours, and loss of firmness. The Ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalane addresses these concerns by delivering an expert-level, concentrated Vitamin A treatment suspended in a hydrating lipid base designed to restore skin elasticity, density, and clarity.

What sets this formula apart is its water-free (anhydrous) structure. Pure Retinol breaks down quickly in the presence of water; by eliminating water entirely, the formula optimizes Retinol stability and potency. To balance the potential drying side effects associated with high-strength Retinol, the active is paired with Squalane—a skin-identical, non-comedogenic lipid that mimics natural skin oils. Squalane acts as a protective buffer, delivering deep hydration to mitigate dryness, scaling, and irritation while promoting a smooth, supple glass-skin finish.

In addition to pure Retinol and Squalane, the formula features antioxidant-rich Tomato Fruit Extract (Solanum Lycopersicum) and Jojoba Seed Oil to protect against free radical stress and shield structural lipids. With consistent PM use, this serum refines coarse skin texture, minimizes dark spot appearance, and smooths deep expression lines.

Skin Type Suitability

• Experienced Retinol Users: Ideal for skin already acclimated to lower retinoid strengths (such as Retinol 0.2% or 0.5%).
• Mature & Aging Skin: Targets deep-set fine lines, expression wrinkles, and loss of skin elasticity.
• Dry & Dehydrated Profiles: The Squalane lipid base replenishes moisture and combats the drying effects of Retinol.
• Textured & Hyperpigmented Skin: Clears away rough surface patches, sun spots, and sallow undertones.

Who Is This Product For

• Skincare users seeking a high-potency, affordable anti-aging serum to visibly reduce wrinkles and fine lines.
• Individuals looking to transition to an advanced 1% pure Retinol treatment after successfully building tolerance with milder formulas.
• Users dealing with stubborn skin texture, enlarged pore appearance, or uneven tone.
• Anyone wanting a clean, vegan, water-free formula that hydrates while delivering active Vitamin A.

Who Should Avoid This Product

• First-Time Retinoid Users & Sensitive Skin Types: High-potency 1% Retinol can cause strong peeling, redness, and irritation on unacclimated skin. Beginner users should start with lower strengths, such as Retinol 0.2% in Squalane or Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion.
• Pregnant or Breastfeeding Individuals: Retinoid-based products must be avoided during pregnancy and lactation.
• Active/Damaged Barriers: Do not apply to raw, peeling, or sunburnt skin, or open weeping wounds.

What Skin Concerns Does It Help Address

• Advanced Fine Lines & Wrinkles: Stimulates surface renewal to plump out shallow and dynamic expression lines.
• Rough Skin Texture & Uneven Tone: Smooths coarse, flaky areas and clears away dead keratin cell accumulation.
• Hyperpigmentation & Sun Spots: Fades photo-damage marks and dark spots by accelerating cell turnover.
• Loss of Skin Firmness: Promotes collagen synthesis to restore structural skin bounce and density.
• Moisture Loss & Dryness: Squalane seals in hydration to protect against trans-epidermal water loss.

Expected Skincare Results Timeline

• Immediate (First Few Applications): Skin feels deeply hydrated and supple due to the Squalane oil base. Mild purging, tightness, or minor flakiness may occur as skin adapts to 1% Retinol.
• Within 2 to 4 Weeks: Surface micro-roughness begins to smooth out, and skin tone clarity improves.
• After 8 to 12 Weeks: Collagen renewal becomes visible—fine lines and wrinkles appear reduced, pore structures look refined, and the complexion maintains a healthier, firmer glow.

Note: Results are not guaranteed and may vary depending on skin condition, acclimation history, environmental factors, and consistent sunscreen usage.

How To Use

Using high-potency Retinol correctly is essential to avoid barrier compromise and maximize anti-aging benefits.

Step-by-Step Application

1. Use exclusively in your PM (Evening) skincare routine.
2. Cleanse your face thoroughly and ensure skin is completely dry before application.
3. Apply a small, pea-sized amount across the entire face, avoiding the immediate eye area, eyelids, and lips.
4. Allow the serum to absorb into the skin, then follow with your favorite hydrating moisturizer to lock in moisture.
5. Always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) every morning, as retinoids increase skin sensitivity to UV radiation.

Important Usage Rules

• Frequency: If transitioning to 1% Retinol, start by applying 1–2 nights per week, gradually increasing to every other night or daily as tolerated.
• Product Incompatibilities: Do NOT use in the same routine as direct acids (AHAs/BHAs, Glycolic, Lactic, Salicylic Acid), direct Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid), or other retinoid treatments.
• Storage Note: Pure Retinol is sensitive to degradation. Once opened, store the bottle in the refrigerator and use within 3 months to preserve active potency.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 1% Retinol in Squalane serum suitable for daily use? Because 1% is a high concentration of pure Retinol, daily use is only recommended for skin that has already built strong tolerance. Beginners to 1% should start 1 to 2 times a week and gradually increase frequency.

Why does this serum need to be stored in the refrigerator after opening? Pure Retinol is highly susceptible to oxidation when exposed to air and light. Storing the opened bottle in the fridge helps preserve ingredient stability, maintaining active potency throughout its 3-month recommended use period.

Will Squalane oil clog pores or trigger acne breakouts? No. Squalane is a non-comedogenic lipid that closely resembles natural skin sebum. It absorbs easily without clogging pores, making it suitable for both dry and combination skin types.

Can I use this serum alongside Vitamin C or AHA/BHA Acids? No, do not combine them in the same routine. Using strong exfoliants or Vitamin C at the same time as 1% Retinol can cause severe barrier irritation and redness. Use Retinol in your PM routine and alternate direct acids or Vitamin C on separate days or in the morning.

Where can I buy the original 30ml The Ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalane in Bangladesh? You can purchase the 100% genuine The Ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalane 30ml directly from our verified storefront at thealoy.com, featuring secure protective packaging and reliable nationwide delivery.
